Becoming a Critical Proponent

Discussions around children’s rights often involve what Stammers (2009) calls uncritical proponents on one side of the debate and uncritical opponents on the other. Reynaert et al., (2012) argue for the development of an approach that involves critical proponents in furthering the rights agenda, using the CRC as a frame of reference to shape our daily interactions with children rather than as a legal tool.
