Great conversations at the First Annual Postgraduate Researcher Symposium in Wolverhampton.
Dr Ben Halligan asked us to work in groups and discuss research approaches and describe our research methodology in 2 sentences to our fellow participants. I said:
My research is a qualitative study looking at very young children's experiences in daycare. It therefore will adopt a participative approach to explore a phenomenon in a naturalistic setting as well as drawing on staff and parent perspectives through semistructured interviews and focus group discussions, in order to better understand how children's rights are negotiated with very young children.
Ben also talked about how having an online presence to help make impact with our research.
We ended by looking at the dos and don'ts of PowerPoint presentations with some great but awful examples.
