What the science of childhood can tell us:
we invest in relationships but we don't measure them as we do children
children are dependent for a very long time, twice as long as many other primates
humans have a long exploration period, and then put what they have learned into practice later, to accomplish extraordinary things
evolutionary, the childhood period made us human, especially early childhood
