I was very excited that we were nine professionals all together at this very first meeting. We discussed what we would like to get from being part of the group:
To improve our practice in relation to children’s rights
To continue developing knowledge gained to date
To develop professionally
To be able to talk to fellow practitioner about children’s rights and pass on knowledge to parents
To make concept of rights accessible in practice
To bring children’s rights to the fore in practice
To develop a greater personal understanding what the Articles could mean to children and young people
To explore how to implement the Articles in practice
We then dived straight into discussing real world issues and relating them to everyday practice
