Great meeting with an assessor for the Rights Respecting Schools/Settings programme, talking about how the award being school focused (and requires interviewing children) does not allow for settings working with younger children to reach more than a Level 1 accreditation. There is therefore a possibility for my research to fill this identified gap (6mths - 3 years).
I will be put in contact with settings who are working from a child-rights perspective that also have 2-year olds and hope they will be happy to allow me to visit to explore how they engage from a rights perspective with very young children.
Networking and getting access to people and settings through personal connections is an important aspect of my research approach.
