A rare event, meeting with my University Supervisor. An animated and stimulating conversation led to a couple of interesting points to consider. My Supervisor suggested that my own vignette of six-year-old Aline, should be in the introduction, my significant event that has subconsciously influenced my whole life and ultimately concluded in a PhD thesis on children's rights, rights I did not have, as I was growing up. I had thought of including my story in the Appendix, as I felt the thesis is about the story of children today, but maybe it is not a bad idea to start off with my own story to understand my motivation.
